Commercial Metals Company in Tennessee seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, service, and repairs on mobile equipment, cranes, and related machinery. The role requires reading technical manuals, diagnosing mechanical issues, and maintaining detailed service records.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and a wide range of tools, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment maintenance mechanic experience.
• Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and working on heavy equipment.
• Proficient in reading and understanding technical documents, diagrams and service manuals.
• Experience with a wide variety of tools related to mechanics/hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on vehicles and mobile equipment, including fueling, cleaning, and fluid checks.
• Maintain mobile equipment, cranes, bearings, power transmission, hydraulics/pneumatics, and welding elements.
• Service machinery and mechanical equipment by repairing engines, hydraulics systems, and related components.
• Repair engine failures, electrical system malfunctions, body repairs, and part replacements.
• Maintain records of work performed, repairs, and material usage.
• Work in varying weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Perform any additional tasks as assigned by a supervisor.
