Total Civil Construction & Engineering seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain construction equipment in shop and field settings across the Mid-Atlantic. You will tackle mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure equipment is safe and production-ready.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of hands-on experience, familiarity with diesel systems and OEM diagnostic tools (Cat ET/SIS/VisionLink), and a strong commitment

Formación

• 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or field service technician.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults on heavy construction equipment.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with CAT/OEM diagnostic platforms (Cat ET, SIS, VisionLink) or comparable tools.
• Strong adherence to OSHA construction standards and safety protocols.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, blueprints, and service bulletins.
• Clear communication and ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic software and test instruments.
• Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer intervals and schedules.
• Repair or replace major components including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and undercarriage systems.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM service bulletins.
• Conduct on-site diagnostics and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Test repairs for proper function and safety before returning equipment to production.
• Adhere to job site safety standards, lockout/tagout, and proper PPE.
• Coordinate with operators, foremen, and fleet management on equipment status.
