Total Civil Construction & Engineering, LLC in the Mid-Atlantic region is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet used on active civil construction projects. Work in both shop and field, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role requires diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults, performing preventive maintenance, and replacing major components.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or field service technician.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex faults on construction equipment.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools.
• Performs preventive maintenance per manufacturer intervals and inspections.
• Repairs or replaces major components including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic pumps.
• Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Performs on-site diagnostics and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Operates equipment to test repairs and verify safety.
• Adheres to safety standards and communicates with supervisors and fleet management.
• Reports parts needs and recurring failures.
