Job summary

Sunland Asphalt is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Las Vegas. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of heavy machinery and trucks.

You will diagnose hydraulic and electrical systems, fabricate and install parts, and maintain safety and efficiency within the shop. Strong attention to safety and problem solving is essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience working on heavy equipment is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems is required.
• Scanner diagnostics a plus: OTC vehicle/CAT ET.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks (pavers, rollers, milling machines, dump trucks, etc.).
• Diagnose hydraulic and electrical systems and perform repairs.
• Fabricate, modify and install parts using mills, lathes, welders, plasma cutters and metal cutting tools.
• Maintain work orders and prioritize repairs; ensure safe, clean shop environment.
• Prepare work orders and cost material estimates; order parts as needed.
