Job summary
SUNLAND ASPHALT in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment (Field) Mechanic to join our growing team. You will diagnose hydraulic systems and perform preventative maintenance on pavers, rollers, milling machines, dump trucks, and more, while prioritizing repairs and coordinating with shop staff.
Minimum five years on heavy equipment and a High School Diploma or GED are required; experience with hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting and scanner diagnostics (OTC/CAT ET) is a plus.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working on heavy equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Excellent decision making skills.
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Scanner diagnostics a plus: OTC vehicle/CAT ET.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose hydraulic systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks (pavers, rollers, milling machines, dump trucks, etc.).
- Fabricate, modify and install replacement parts using shop equipment.
- Troubleshoot machine systems including hydraulics, power trains and engines.
- Prepare work orders and cost material estimates.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and prioritize repairs.
