Job summary

Sunland Asphalt is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to repair and maintain our fleet across Denver job sites. You will diagnose hydraulic and electrical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and fabricate parts as needed.

The role requires at least five years of field experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work at heights and in varying weather. CDL preferred; medical certification is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience working on heavy equipment.
• Must be fluent in English (read, write, speak).
• Meets FMCSA English proficiency requirements; CDL drivers may need to pass proficiency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled repairs on fleet vehicles, machinery, motors, and tools.
• Diagnose hydraulic and electrical systems and perform preventive maintenance.
• Fabricate and install replacement parts using mills, lathes, welders, torches and plasma cutters.
• Maintain work orders, cost estimates, and safety compliance at all times.
• Travel to multiple job sites and work in varying weather conditions.
• Prioritize repairs and maintain a clean, safe shop environment.
