Amentum is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform repairs and services for a range of heavy equipment, relying on technical manuals and standard tools. You will diagnose defects, dismantle and rebuild components, and test equipment to ensure operating efficiency.

Required are 5+ years of field experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain within 90 days). Strong teamwork and safety compliance are essential in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years’ recent experience in heavy machinery maintenance.
• Must hold a Class A CDL (or obtain within 90 days).
• Must be able to read and interpret Technical Manuals and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Operates and inspects machines to diagnose defects.
• Dismantles/reassembles equipment using manuals and tools.
• Replaces engines/subassemblies and tests equipment after repairs.
• Inspects parts for wear using micrometers and gauges.
• May direct others in cleaning/assembly tasks.
• Adheres to maintenance procedures and safety rules.
