Job summary

Pacific Steel & Recycling - 31 SPOKANE is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our diesel-powered machinery and truck fleet used in the recycling process. You will diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safety standards are met.

Responsibilities include documenting repairs, reading manuals and blueprints, collaborating with the operations team, and staying current with industry techniques.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Certification from a recognized institution is a plus.
• Certified in DOT inspections.
• CDL is a plus
• Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, and loaders.
• Maintain and repair truck fleet.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment longevity and safety.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule preventive maintenance works without interrupting production.
• Keep detailed records of equipment maintenance and repair work.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry standards and techniques for maintenance and repair.
