Job summary

Pro-Vac in Washington state is seeking an experienced Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and Class A trucks in a fast-paced shop. You will own complex repairs and perform preventative maintenance with a focus on safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of heavy equipment/truck experience, strong diesel and electrical knowledge, and proficiency with diagnostic tools such as INSITE, CAT ET, and DiagnosticLink 8. A welding background is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of heavy equipment and/or heavy truck mechanic experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, aftertreatment/emissions systems, hydraulics, air brakes, and 12-volt/CAN bus electrical systems.
• Experience using Cummins INSITE, Cat ET, and DiagnosticLink 8.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex equipment and truck issues.
• Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and major and minor repairs.
• Repairing diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions, steering, and fuel systems.
• Using diagnostic software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Performing welding, fabrication, and cutting as needed.
• Completing Federal DOT inspections on commercial vehicles.
