Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment and Diesel Mechanic to repair, maintain, and inspect a fleet of trucks, trailers, and containers. You will diagnose and service hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems, and perform DOT inspections as needed.

Work outdoors in varying weather, adhere to safety standards, maintain records, and coordinate with management for scheduled maintenance. Prior heavy equipment experience and a willingness to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical degree highly desired.
• Two (2) years mechanical heavy-duty truck or heavy equipment service experience in a shop setting or military installation preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Must be willing to complete, and successfully pass a drug screen, physical and background check.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and cooling systems on trucks and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, lubrication, filters, tires, brakes) per manufacturer and SA Recycling guidance.
• Patch holes in trailers/containers as needed.
• Manage and maintain spare parts inventory.
• Schedule routine or emergency maintenance with the General Manager.
• Maintain accurate work records and complete annual DOT inspections.
