Job summary

Rummel Construction, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the 2nd shift in the Phoenix metro area. Start times shift with seasons, and the role involves maintaining a large fleet of heavy machinery including scrapers, dozers, graders, and excavators.

You will repair and diagnose equipment, complete inspection logs, ensure DOT compliance, and work with a team that prioritizes safety and efficiency. A reliable driving record and ability to work extended hours on-site are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years repairing heavy equipment including CAT, John Deere, or similar brands.
• Basic mechanic work using hand tools and welding/grinding experience preferred.
• Ability to comply with safety, DOT, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Repair and diagnose heavy equipment (scrapers, dozers, graders, excavators).
• Log inspections and repair records, follow DOT compliance requirements.
• Maintain safety standards and assist with on-site maintenance tasks as needed.

If you have the passion to work on scrapers, dozers, motor graders and excavators, and want to keep working on them, this is the spot for you.You'll be working with scores of experienced employees who put safety first and work together to meet the day's goals. We typically work Monday-Friday, though some project schedules may require WEEKEND work.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE2+ Years Experience repairing CAT, John Deere, or other manufactured heavy equipmentAn acceptable driving record and the ability to obtain a DOT Med Card*Basic mechanic experience utilizing hand tools (wrenches, sockets, etc.) to complete repairsAbility to lift, load, and unload up to 50 lbsFollow safety precautions while repairing and diagnosing machinesAbility to walk, sit, squat, stand, or bend for extended periodsAbility to enter and exit equipment using 3 points of contactKnowledge of completing inspection logs, electronic driver logs, and DOT complianceExperience with welding and grinding machines*Employment Offer Contingency – Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)If you receive an employment offer for this position, it is contingent upon the successful completion and review of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
