Job summary

Texmore Incorporated in Manvel, Texas, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair a range of heavy machinery used in our scrapyard operations.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to emergencies in shop and field, and keep detailed service records while adhering to OSHA guidelines and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge of engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
• Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying weather.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Valid driver's license (required or preferred depending on duties).
• Basic computer or mobile app experience for maintenance tracking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment, forklifts, trucks, balers, crushers, shredders, and other machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Respond to emergency repair requests in both the shop and field.
• Order and replace parts such as brakes, batteries, hydraulic components, tires, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Collaborate with operators and management to ensure equipment remains safe and operational.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Saturday 8:30 AM–12:30 PM, with potential emergency on-call requirements

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy equipment, trucks, and machinery essential to our scrapyard operations. What You’ll Do

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment, forklifts, trucks, balers, crushers, shredders, and other machinery.

Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

Strong mechanical knowledge of engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.

Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Ability to work in physically demanding environments and various weather conditions.

Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Valid driver's license (preferred or required depending on duties).

Basic computer or mobile app experience for maintenance tracking is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on heavy equipment in a scrapyard, construction, agricultural, or industrial setting.

Welding and fabrication experience.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and recordkeeping skills.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Industrial recycling facility with exposure to:

• Dust and outdoor elements
• Varying temperatures

PPE required at all times.
