Job summary

Blount Construction Company, Inc. seeks an experienced Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles and field machinery. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure equipment safety and reliability in shop or on-site locations.

The ideal candidate has strong diesel, brake, and hydraulic repair skills, a clean MVR, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engine repair and heavy equipment operation.
• Knowledge of air brake systems and suspension components.
• Ability to work on tractors, trailers, farm machinery, and dealership vehicles.
• Clean driving record (MVR).
• At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment in shop or at field locations.
• Perform service, maintenance, and overhaul per manufacturer guidance.
• Ensure safety standards and keep records of inspections.
• Weld, braze, fabricate, and modify parts as needed.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and accurately.

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles and machinery.

Duties

• Ensure that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Diagnose and perform equipment repairs in response to maintenance requests, in shop or in field locations.
• Perform service, maintenance , repair, and overhaul in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
• Ability to analysis and diagnose issues with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems and electronic systems.
• Perform welding and brazing, fabricate, and modify parts, equipment, and , miscellaneous structures and attachments.
• Conduct and record keep inspections to ensure vehicles meet Department of Transportation safety standards.

Requirements

• Experience with diesel engine repair, brake repair, and heavy equipment operation
• Knowledge of air brake systems and suspension components
• Ability to work on industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and dealership vehicles
• Proficiency in assembling and disassembling mechanical components
• Clean MVR
• Preferred 5+years experience
