Job summary

Brandenburg Industrial Svc Co. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to dismantle, repair, and maintain gasoline and diesel equipment across the Mid-Atlantic region. This full-time role requires 1–2 years of repair experience and a safety-minded approach in all weather conditions.

Travel up to 100% is required; duties include troubleshooting, parts identification, and documentation. A DOT Physical and possible CDL are prerequisites, with benefits per the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years' experience repairing heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical.
  • CDL or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle and reassemble gasoline & diesel equipment using various hand tools and/or hoists.
  • Repair & replace major components, damaged and worn parts.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
  • Determine nature and extent of equipment failures.
  • Identify required repair parts & supplies.
  • Document maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Record parts and supply usage.
  • Agility to access and repair components on heavy equipment.
  • Agility to climb onto, into and out of equipment using ladder.
  • Agility to walk and work on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, push/pull and/or reach frequently.
  • Agility, bodily coordination & dexterity of hands and feet.
  • Ensure the quality and timely completion of work scheduled by the supervisor.
  • Ability to work productively in PPE throughout shift in all weather conditions.
  • Perform safety sensitive tasks.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Brandenburg's environmental and safety policies.
  • Regular and Predictable Performance.

Hourly Range: $27.15 - $43.45 and benefit package per Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Duties / Responsibilities / Physical Requirements

Education / Experience

Candidates must have a HS diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years' experience repairing heavy equipment

Job Specific Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Responsible and safety minded
  • Ability to trouble shoot & analyze equipment malfunction
  • Knowledge of the use of testing equipment, tools and gauges
  • Basic knowledge of electric, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Read & implement mobile equipment maintenance manuals
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical
  • Commercial Drivers' License or the ability to obtain
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Successful candidates have good organization skills, communicate effectively & have the ability to handle varied tasks at once
