Job summary

Brandenburg Industrial SVC CO in Mid-Atlantic Division is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This full-time role dismantles and repairs gasoline and diesel equipment, using hand tools and hoists, with an emphasis on safety and timely maintenance.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of heavy equipment repair experience, along with the ability to read manuals, troubleshoot failures, and pass a DOT physical. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years' heavy equipment repair experience.
• Ability to read and implement maintenance manuals.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical.
• CDL or ability to obtain CDL.
• Safety minded with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage varied tasks.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and reassemble gasoline & diesel equipment using hand tools and/or hoists.
• Repair & replace major components and worn parts.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Determine nature and extent of equipment failures.
• Identify required repair parts & supplies.
• Document maintenance and repair work performed.
• Record parts and supply usage.
• Work with agility to access components on heavy equipment.
• Climb onto/into and out of equipment using ladders.
• Work on uneven surfaces and in PPE as required.
• Lift, push/pull and reach frequently; maintain safety standards.
• Ensure quality and timely completion of work scheduled by supervisor.
• Perform all work in accordance with Brandenburg's environmental and safety policies.

Hourly Range: $27.15 - $43.45 and benefit package per Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Duties / Responsibilities / Physical Requirements

• Dismantle and reassemble gasoline & diesel equipment using various hand tools and/or hoists
• Repair & replace major components, damaged and warn parts
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Determine nature and extent of equipment failures
• Identify required repair parts & supplies
• Document maintenance and repair work performed
• Record parts and supply usage
• Agility to access and repair components on heavy equipment
• Agility to climb onto, into and out of equipment using ladder
• Agility to walk and work on uneven surfaces
• Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, push/pull and / or reach frequently
• Agility, bodily coordination & dexterity of hands and feet
• Ensure the quality and timely completion of work scheduled by the supervisor
• Ability to work productively in personal protective equipment throughout work shift in all weather conditions

Education / Experience

Candidates must have a HS diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years' experience repairing heavy equipment

• Knowledge of the use of testing equipment, tools and gauges
• Basic knowledge of electric, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Read & implement mobile equipment maintenance manuals
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical
• Commercial Drivers' License or the ability to obtain
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Successful candidates have good organization skills, communicate effectively & have the ability to handle varied tasks at once
