Job summary

Western States Equipment Co in Idaho is seeking a field service technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment across customer sites. The role requires strong problem-solving, familiarity with engines, hydraulics, powertrain, electrical systems, and telematics, with emphasis on safety and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs under supervision, plus occasional testing with OEM manuals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational degree preferred.
• Minimum one year heavy equipment maintenance experience; CDL and DOT compliance.
• Minimum five years' experience in heavy equipment diagnosis and repair.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Develops basic troubleshooting skills under supervision.
• Assists with testing and repairs per time guidelines.
• Assists with inspections and minor troubleshooting.
• Performs engine preventative maintenance and powertrain checks.
• Maintains hydraulic systems and basic electrical components.
• Install, repair telematics systems; adhere to safety policies.
