Job summary

Carter Machinery Co. Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and service heavy equipment at customer sites.

The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The position offers a starting hourly rate of $35.00–$49.94 with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates and a $2,000 bonus for others. A CDL and DOT readiness are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience performing mechanical service and repairs to Caterpillar equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work orders.
• Service, diagnose and repair machine components and systems at the customer site.
• Disassemble, inspect and determine parts needed; reassemble to factory specs.
