Responsibilities:

Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Field Service Diesel Technician / Mechanic for our Hooksett, NH branch. The primary responsibilities include:

• Complete inspections, focusing on asphalt-related equipment
• Removal and installation of parts
• Implementation of optional accessories
• Maintenance
• Basic diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Testing
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance, including being ready for work at the designated start time, is expected.

We encourage our Technicians to participate in our in-house training program to acquire additional skills in diagnosis and troubleshooting and to further their careers. Company uniforms are provided!

Qualifications:

• Four years of heavy equipment or over-the-road (OTR) repair experience required
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of engine, power train, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Own tools
• Positive attitude and high energy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook
• Language skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals; write routine reports; speak effectively before groups
• Mathematical skills: Ability to perform basic operations with numbers, money, weight, volume, and distance
• Reasoning ability: Ability to follow instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit
• Lift up to 25 pounds regularly; 26-50 pounds frequently; over 50 pounds occasionally
• Work near moving mechanical parts; exposed to fumes, outdoor conditions, and potential hazards like electrical shock and vibration
