Qualifications

• Trade school or dealership training in diesel/mechanical repair equivalent to an associate degree.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Effective communication and accurate maintenance documentation.
• Professional certifications related to heavy equipment are a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and motorized equipment.
• Identify mechanical and electrical problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Diagnose hydraulic, electronic, small engine, and A/C systems.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to keep equipment operational.
• Complete repair orders with mileage, operating hours, dates, and descriptions.
• Coordinate with the Shop Foreman when prioritizing emergency or time-sensitive repairs.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a safe and organized condition.
• Follow company safety requirements and applicable procedures.
• Travel as needed for work assignments, training, meetings, or other business activities.
• Work efficiently under pressure and help minimize equipment downtime.
• Perform other maintenance and repair duties as assigned.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to keep trucks, trailers, heavy machinery, and other fleet equipment operating safely and reliably.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on repair experience and can troubleshoot multiple mechanical systems, including hydraulics, electronics, small engines, and air conditioning.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, walking, sitting, and standing.
• Regular lifting of materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Assistance is required for heavier items or loads that present lifting or ergonomic challenges.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Extended hours may be required based on operational needs.
