Job summary

Michigan Kenworth is seeking a Service Technician to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and road-test equipment while maintaining clear documentation and professional communication with customers.

Ability to read repair orders, use diagnostic tools, and collaborate with the shop team is essential. CDL eligibility and high attention to safety are required.

Qualifications

• Formal technical training degree, certificate or diploma or equivalent work experience.
• High School Diploma; AA preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Valid CDL and keep a clean driving record.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret repair orders, manuals, schematics and bulletins.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Troubleshoots electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine and suspension systems.
• Writes clear, detailed repair orders describing causes and procedures.
• Uses diagnostic equipment to detect faults and interpret results.
• Communicates with Shop Foreman and parts to obtain repairs and parts.
• Performs road tests to verify repairs and problem isolation.
• Tracks hours on Repair Orders and documents each operation.
• Interacts with customers professionally and assists other technicians as needed.
