Job summary

Michigan Kenworth in Metro Detroit is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic to travel to customer sites and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy‑duty trucks. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure quality service on site or at client locations.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of heavy‑duty truck maintenance experience and holds certifications in at least two major brands (MX, Cummins, CAT, Eaton, Fuller, etc.).

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in heavy duty truck maintenance.
• Certified in at least two major brand products (MX, Cummins, CAT, Eaton, or Fuller).
• Ability to communicate with customers one‑on‑one.
• Must have a valid CDL (preferred) and clean driving record.
• High school diploma required; technical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on heavy duty vehicles at client sites or at service locations.
• Troubleshoot electrical, drivetrain, HVAC, braking, engine, and suspension systems.
• Document repair descriptions clearly on repair orders and communicate findings to customers.
• Coordinate with parts to obtain needed components and schedule road tests as needed.
