Job summary

Michigan Kenworth in Grand Rapids is seeking Body Shop Technicians. Candidates should have high school education and prefer technical training; CDL eligibility is a plus.

The role involves preparing vehicles for body repair, performing maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles, and troubleshooting multiple systems. Responsibilities include reading repair orders, detailing repair procedures, coordinating with the Shop Foreman and parts staff, and performing road tests as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; technical training preferred.
• Formal technical degree or diploma preferred.
• CDL eligibility preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
• Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles.
• Troubleshoots electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems.
• Writes up repair orders with cause of failure and repair procedures.
• Sand blasts vehicles in preparation for painting and uses a paint gun to apply primer.
• Reads fault descriptions and determines efficient repair procedures.
• Communicates with Shop Foreman and parts department to ensure accurate repairs and parts.
