- Ability to follow detailed build instructions by part number and description
- Basic mechanical aptitude and technical understanding
- Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks with accuracy
- Must be able to follow torque specifications and assembly standards
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and tight spaces
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
Oilfield Equipment Mechanical Assembler – Position Summary
Assembles and fabricates mechanical components in a manufacturing environment focused on oilfield equipment subassembly. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow structured build processes. Work includes installing engine-related components, completing build documentation, and ensuring each step meets company standards for quality and safety.
Oilfield Equipment Mechanical Assembler – Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assemble engine components including alternators, intake manifolds, and starters
- Install components using approved assembly practices
- Follow torque specifications for all applicable fasteners
- Mark each component as it is installed
- Update build sheets throughout each stage of assembly
- Work from instructions based on part numbers and descriptions
- Maintain safe, efficient, and organized work practices
- Follow all company safety procedures and training requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Oilfield Equipment Mechanical Assembler – Additional Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 65 lbs occasionally (floor to shoulder)
- Ability to occasionally move up to 100 lbs (push/pull/carry)
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and overhead work required
- Comfortable working in confined or narrow spaces
- Repetitive hand tool use (wrenches, screwdrivers, hammering)
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Exposure to heat, cold, noise, fumes, and mechanical environments
- Ability to work occasional overtime beyond scheduled shift hours
