Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a Mechanic to diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks, CNG, gas, and electric vehicles, keeping our fleet safe and on the move. You will work in a fast-paced, safety-first shop, using diagnostic software and your toolkit to solve complex mechanical issues.

Responsibilities include planning repairs, maintaining digital work orders, and mentoring junior mechanics while adhering to all safety regulations. A strong hands-on background with diesel engines is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or trade certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
• Must possess, provide, and maintain your own personal tool set and be familiar with diagnostic software.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs and work in a dynamic shop environment with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair diesel trucks, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles.
• Master the Tech: Use diagnostic software, repair manuals, and hand/power tools to fix issues.
• Keep Things Scheduled: Plan and schedule repairs, procure parts, and assist with work orders.
• Work Safe, Work Smart: Maintain a clean workspace and follow safety regulations.
• Support the Team: Collaborate with colleagues and assist in training new mechanics.
