Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a diesel mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain heavy duty trucks and associated equipment.

The role requires diagnosing issues, planning repairs, coordinating parts and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to follow detailed manuals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma desired.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Experience using diagnostic software is a plus.
• Must be computer literate and willing to learn new software systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.
• Maintain and repair diesel, CNG, gas and electrically operated equipment.
• Complete reports, work orders and procure parts as required daily.
• Plan and schedule repairs using M5 planner and coordinate** parts for repairs.
• Assist in reviewing mechanical write-ups and coordinating repair schedules.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with safety regulations.
• Operate and use a range of power and hand tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to company policies and training provided by supervisors.
