Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Mechanic to keep our fleet rolling in High Point, NC. You will diagnose and repair heavy‑duty diesel trucks and affiliated equipment, using diagnostic software and your personal tool set, while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (trade certification preferred) and at least 1 year of hands-on diesel/heavy equipment experience. Join a safety‑first team focused on reliable, quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or trade certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
• Comfortable using computer diagnostic software, maintaining digital work orders, and learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy‑duty diesel trucks, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles and rolling stock.
• Utilize diagnostic software, manuals, and hand/power tools to identify root causes of mechanical issues.
• Plan and schedule repairs in the M5 planner, procure parts, and assist with write-ups and work orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with team members and assist in training new mechanics and attending technical seminars.
