Job summary

The Prolift Rigging Company in San Marcos, TX is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel-powered equipment, including cranes and forklifts. You will diagnose diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical and onboard computer systems, brakes, booms, outriggers, and pumps to keep equipment safe and ready for operation.

Qualifications

3+ years’ experience in diesel maintenance with proven troubleshooting skills.
Must work safely in a fast-paced environment – many times under pressure.
Experience with Cummins and CAT diesel engines and systems.
Experience in gasoline and propane engines.
Proven ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Must have current CDL.
Creative thinking to improve processes.
Willing to work day and/or night shifts, weekends and holidays.
Must pass drug test, fit for duty test and background check.
Basic computer skills and Excel for digital record keeping.

Responsibilities

Perform PM and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical and hydraulic systems, brakes, and other components.
Work on hydraulic and conventional cranes, forklifts, tractor trailers and related equipment.
Communicate effectively with operators and fellow mechanics.
Manage branch resources throughout the maintenance lifecycle.
