Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a skilled garage mechanic in Waterbury, CT to inspect, maintain, and repair heavy-duty equipment. The role requires knowledge of internal combustion engines and hydraulics, plus the ability to diagnose faults and perform transmission work.

Four and a half years of qualifying experience and a valid CDL are required. Second shift hours are 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, with potential emergency assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Four and a half years of experience as a fully qualified garage mechanic.
• Education and training equivalent to graduation from high school or vocational school, plus a one-year trade school course.
• Must hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Second shift hours: Mon–Fri, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM.
• Must be able to perform garage mechanic tasks including transmission work, emergency duties, and overtime as needed.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines and hydraulic assemblies; ability to diagnose deficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair automotive, heavy-duty equipment and associated components.
• Diagnose operating deficiencies of automotive and hydraulic equipment.
• Perform transmission work and other assigned tasks on second shift.
