Job summary

Circular Services in Southington, CT, is hiring an entry-level Heavy Truck Diesel Mechanic to join the 2PM-10PM maintenance shift. You will assist the lead mechanic with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on our fleet of heavy trucks and trailers.

You will perform basic tasks such as checking fluids, replacing filters, greasing fittings, tire changes, and brake inspections. Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and keeping a clean, organized shop.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead mechanic with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy trucks and trailers.
• Perform basic mechanical tasks such as checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and greasing fittings.
• Help with tire changes, brake inspections, and other preventative maintenance work.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding tasks and progress.
• Research pricing of equipment and supplies to identify superior pricing
• Prioritize work orders for completion in a systematic and efficient manner
• Assists work orders for outside contractors
• Conducts routine testing of equipment and inspection of the warehouse
• Cross-trains in other areas of the business and assists in those areas as needed.
