Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines includes routine maintenance.
• CDL CLASS A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.
• Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, and road test.
• Background and Motor vehicle check from previous employers for last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Conducts standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical/electrical problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root causes and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components and performs preventive maintenance.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to clarify the issue and task.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
