Job summary

JERRY in Wisconsin seeks a Heavy-Duty Diesel Service Writer to serve as the primary liaison between fleet customers, owner-operators, and diesel technicians. You will translate customer mechanical issues into actionable repair orders, schedule maintenance, and manage shop workflow while delivering strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree in Diesel Technology is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in heavy-duty truck service writing, parts, or service coordination.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Class 7-8 trucks, diesel engines, air brake systems, and heavy-duty operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and drivers, collect vehicle and contact details, and provide updates to fleet managers.
• Translate customer mechanical issues into actionable repair orders and schedule PM/inspections.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for parts and labor and secure approvals before work begins.
• Open repair orders documenting mileage, engine hours, and complaints; log parts and labor hours; process warranty claims.
• Finalize and invoice repair orders, handling payments and fleet documentation.
• Coordinate with parts and service teams to optimize shop flow and safety.
