Job summary

Colville, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic II in Valdez, AK to maintain and repair a broad range of vehicles and heavy equipment across challenging arctic conditions. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while ensuring compliance with company safety standards and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Diesel/heavy-duty mechanic experience or formal training.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean record.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to work 10+ hour days and in extreme Arctic conditions.
• 7-year criminal background check and pre-hire drug test.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and DOT annual inspections.
• Respond to in-field service calls for damaged equipment.
• Lead by example in safety and professionalism, assisting Oilers and Shop Laborers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
