Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in High Point, NC, is seeking a Mechanic to keep our fleet rolling. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment, using diagnostics software and a full toolkit.

We value hands-on problem solving, safety, and teamwork. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of diesel/heavy equipment experience, and the ability to provide your own tools; a technical cert is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or trade certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
• Must possess and maintain personal tool set for heavy equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles.
• Use diagnostic software and manuals to identify root causes.
• Plan and schedule repairs, procure parts, and assist with work orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the team and assist in training new mechanics.
