Job summary

Adams Scrap Recycling in Greenville, SC is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel vehicles and heavy equipment. The role emphasizes safety, quality craftsmanship, and minimizing downtime.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of hands-on Diesel Mechanic experience, owns a basic toolset up to 1/2" drive, and may hold ASE or OEM training. CDL is a plus but not required. Excellent benefits accompany a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years hands-on experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Truck Technician.
• Must possess a personal set of basic mechanic tools up to 1/2" drive.
• CDL Class A or B is a major plus, but not required.
• ASE certifications or OEM factory training are highly desirable.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or kneel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, brake, air, suspension, and steering systems.
• Engine work including diagnostics and repairs on platforms such as Cummins, Detroit, Duramax, Powerstroke.
• Perform PM services, oil changes, tire rotations, and federal DOT inspections.
• Use diagnostic software to read codes and trace electrical faults.
• Document repairs, parts used, and labor hours in the shop management system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area per OSHA standards.
