Job summary

CSM Companies, Inc. - Kenworth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Body Shop Technician/Mechanic. The role requires diagnostic skill across electrical, drivetrain, HVAC, brake, engine and suspension systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; technical degree preferred
• Personal tool inventory to complete job duties
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to obtain a Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• Welding is a plus but not required
• Ability to read and interpret repair orders and technical manuals
• Proficient with basic computer usage

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for body repair work
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles
• Troubleshoot electrical, drive train, HVAC, brakes, engine and suspension systems
• Write accurate and detailed descriptions on repair orders
• Sandblast and prime vehicles for painting
• Use diagnostic equipment to locate faults and verify repairs
• Communicate repair information to Shop Foreman and parts department
• Test drive customer vehicles to verify repairs
• Track hours charged to each repair order
• Interact with customers professionally
• Assist other technicians with repairs
