Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with three years of heavy construction equipment operation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state CDL (Class A or B) with acceptable driving history.
• Background investigation and pre-employment medical screen required.
• Knowledge of safe operation procedures and department safety guidelines.
• Ability to establish priorities and organize work.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains heavy motorized construction equipment.
• Transports heavy construction equipment to job sites.
• Inspects equipment before use and performs necessary repairs.
• Inspects job sites for hazards.
• Ensures proper equipment maintenance; conducts minor repairs as needed.
• Digs and exposes buried sewer pipelines using backhoes or tracked excavators.
• Responds to emergencies during and after work hours.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
