Job summary

CK Contractors and Development LLC in the Savannah area seeks a Utilities Operator to trench and install sewer and water lines, operating heavy equipment and following safety standards.

This non-exempt role requires 2+ years of equipment experience, ability to read blueprints, and strong teamwork. Work hours are Monday–Friday with potential overtime within a 70-mile Savannah radius, with competitive benefits including health insurance and 401(k).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• General knowledge of excavating practices and locate requirements.
• Commitment to safety standards and policies.
• Ability to work with others to achieve results and think critically.

Responsibilities

• Drive, operate and maneuver heavy equipment.
• Read and interpret utilities blueprints to dig soil per specs.
• Maintain safe operation and proper distances from hazards.
• Coordinate machine functions with crew via signals.
• Monitor health and safety standards and perform pre/post equipment checks.
• Keep records of material and equipment usage and address issues.
• Work overtime as needed and adapt to site changes.
