Job summary

Seneca Resorts & Casinos is hiring a housekeeping/maintenance associate in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on maintaining casino cleanliness, operating cleaning machines like buffers and burnishers, and providing exceptional customer service to patrons and staff.

Applicants should be 18+, with a high school diploma preferred, and prior cleaning or housekeeping experience is a plus. Training is required within nine months, and shift hours follow a 24-hour schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
• High school diploma or its equivalency preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Must be familiar with proper use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Knowledge in the operation of cleaning machines such as buffers, burnishers, carpet cleaning machines, escalator cleaning machines and other miscellaneous cleaning equipment.
• Previous housekeeping experience a plus.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
• Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
• Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the cleanliness of the casino. Duties include the operation of cleaning machines such as buffers, furnishers, carpet cleaning machines, escalator cleaning machines and other miscellaneous cleaning equipment to ensure consistent cleanliness.
• Required to carry out individual assignments as well as working with a group.
• Must have basic knowledge of and work with various cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
• Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
• Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
• Attend all necessary meetings.
