Balfour Beatty US is seeking a skilled Surveyor – Heavy Civils to provide precise site layouts on active construction sites for complex, high-profile projects. This hands-on role collaborates with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure layouts meet exact specifications and stay on schedule.

The ideal candidate will have strong math skills, experience with Trimble data collection and surveying gear, and proficiency with Autodesk/CAD software.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical skills and ability to apply measurements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of staff.
• Experience with Trimble data collection software and surveying equipment.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Experience with CAD software (Autodesk, Trimble) preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications.
• Motivated self-starter and team player who can learn and advance.
• Capable of working outdoors in varying weather and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys with instruments.
• Perform high-accuracy layout.
• Operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations and GNSS.
• Utilize Trimble and Autodesk software.
• Provide precise measurements for foundations and utilities.
• Monitor and record site progress against plans.
• Maintain and calibrate survey instruments and safety standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to implement survey data.
