Job summary

Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation is seeking a field surveying assistant in Pensacola, FL. You will support crews, load gear, and ensure materials are ready for daily tasks while helping establish survey points with tape, chains, and levels.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, safety compliance, basic office duties, and occasional travel or overnight stays to remote locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical tasks for long periods.
• Must obtain badges and site certifications as required.
• Willingness to travel to remote field locations as needed.
• Ability to work in inclement weather and around traffic.

Responsibilities

• Assist field surveying under Crew Chief guidance.
• Load and unload survey equipment to/from the work vehicle.
• Ensure truck has materials for daily tasks.
• Set up backsights and foresights for surveys.
• Use tape, chain, and level to record field measurements.
• Assist in locating property corners and driving stakes.
• Maintain survey-grade instruments and safety gear.
• Set up safety equipment and flag traffic as needed.
• Perform light office duties such as filing or scanning.
• Be prepared for overtime and travel as required.
