Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Chipley, FL seeks a field survey assistant to support the surveying crew, operate equipment, and prepare data for plans and reports. You will assist the party chief, travel to field sites as needed, and help maintain instruments and safety practices on every project.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of survey experience; ability to obtain site badges; valid driver’s license; willingness to work outdoors in varying weather; and strong teamwork

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year survey experience as Rodman, Instrument Man, or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain badges/certifications to enter sites (e.g., MOT, Duke Energy, CSX, DOD).
• Proficiently operate surveying equipment (GPS, RTK, total stations, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist field surveying activities and maintain survey equipment.
• Load/unload survey gear and set up instruments.
• Set backsights/foresights and demonstrate instrument operation.
• Maintain tools, safety gear, and daily instrument charging.
• Take measurements and collect data for plans and reports.
• Support crew chief with field notes and data collection.
