Job summary

Kiewit is offering an internship in construction management with a hands-on, real-world learning experience. You will participate in field engineering, planning, cost control, scheduling, and procurement on major infrastructure projects.

Ideal candidates are pursuing civil engineering or construction management degrees, willing to travel, and able to work full-time during the summer. This program emphasizes safety, ethics, and teamwork while offering a competitive hourly base compensation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Willingness to travel/relocate as needed.
• Ability to work full-time during summer (May–August).
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, and supervision of field activities.
• Performing engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handling minor problems of a technical nature arising during construction.
• Maintaining records regarding job progress, costs, material usage, etc.
• Planning and scheduling of job and/or job segments.
• Investigating problems and/or reported incidents; identifying solutions.
• Reviewing plans and specifications to determine material requirements and pricing.
