Job summary

Webber, a Ferrovial company, in Houston, TX, is seeking a dynamic Estimator to join our team. You will drive bid preparation, take-offs and cost analysis for heavy civil projects, including roadways, bridges and water infrastructure.

Responsibilities include full-cycle take-offs, subcontractor coordination, plan/spec review and preparing electronic estimates for diverse delivery methods such as Hard Bid, CSP, CMAR and CMGC. Bachelor’s degree and estimation software experience required.

Qualifications

• Experience in all delivery methods - Hard Bid, CSP, CMAR, CMGC and Design Build.
• Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or similar.
• Experience using estimating software such as AutoCAD, Primavera, Timberline, WinEst, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Ability to work largely independently, with initiative and multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work as part of a pre-construction team.
• Valid driver license for travel.

Responsibilities

• Access cost effectiveness of products, projects or services.
• Track actual costs against bids as projects develop and monitor commodity pricing.
• Consult with clients, vendors and other departments to discuss projects and estimates.
• Confer with engineers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on cost adjustments.
• Review plans/specs for general compliance and industry practices.
• Administer full-cycle take-offs and pricing for assigned divisions, including 30–60% plans.
• Maintain supplier/subcontractor directory using SmartBidNet or equivalent.
• Prepare sub-bid analyses and electronic estimates.
• Prepare documentation used by management for planning and scheduling.
