Job summary

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction or Engineering or commensurate practical experience.
• Minimum of 2 years estimating experience in civil/construction.
• Experience with heavy civil or commercial projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• HCSS heavy bid experience required.
• Agtek experience preferred.
• Ability to perform detailed take-offs for CIP, Precast, Structural, earthwork, utilities.
• Ability to read heavy civil drawings and specs.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for civil/commercial projects.
• Develop accurate cost estimates using estimating software.
• Participate in bid strategy and preconstruction planning.
• Solicit and negotiate subcontractor/supplier quotes.
• Review plans and specs to identify requirements and risks.
• Verify takeoffs and pricing for accuracy.
• Maintain estimating databases and unit pricing.
• Research materials, labor, and methods for estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits; document owner requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers to align estimates with means/methods.
• Prepare estimate summaries and explain assumptions.
• Support bid reviews and final proposal preparation.
