Job summary

SPG is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator to support its estimating and preconstruction team in Burlington, WA. The role focuses on pricing for heavy civil projects across transportation, utilities, and public works, with involvement in takeoffs, budgeting, and bid development.

The ideal candidate has experience in heavy civil environments, understands road, bridge, and utility construction, and can coordinate with project teams and suppliers. On-site work in Washington State is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy civil construction environments.
• Ability to interpret plans, specs, and project scopes.
• Knowledge of quantity takeoffs, budgeting, estimating, and cost management.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs, geotechnical reports, and contract documents.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects.
• Evaluate labor, equipment, material, subcontractor costs.
• Assist in bid preparation, pricing, and proposal development.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Support change order pricing and cost evaluation.
• Participate in preconstruction planning and project handoff.
• Maintain estimating records and documentation.
