Job summary

Azuria Water Solutions seeks an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on major infrastructure projects. You will lead crews, manage schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and budget targets are met, from planning through completion.

The role requires 7+ years in heavy civil construction, with 3+ years in leadership, ability to coordinate teams and subcontractors, and willingness to travel to sites for extended durations (9 months to 2 years).

Qualifications

• 7+ years in heavy civil construction with 3+ years in a superintendent or field leadership role.
• Experience managing crews and field operations on roads, bridges, earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, or grading.
• Strong understanding of plans, specs, schedules, cost controls, and field documentation.
• Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage equipment and manpower, and solve field challenges.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, safety practices, quality control, and site compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for heavy civil projects (pipeline, paving, excavation, utilities, concrete, water/wastewater infra).
• Supervise field crews, foremen, subcontractors, manpower, and equipment to meet productivity and milestones.
• Develop and maintain work plans, look-ahead schedules, staffing and equipment plans.
• Monitor production, labor hours, material usage, budgets, and costs; address issues affecting schedule or safety.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, owners, inspectors, and field leadership to resolve challenges.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring OSHA compliance and site safety plans.
• Maintain quality by adhering to plans, specs, contract requirements, and best practices.
• Communicate project status, risks, resource needs, and field conditions to leadership.

BLD services, an Azuria Water Company, is the nation's largest manufacturer and installer of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lateral liners, operating through the Central and Eastern U.S. In addition, the company's underground utilities group is one of the largest water pipeline service providers on the Louisiana Gulf Coast.

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for major infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for leading crews, coordinating daily site activities, driving production, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate brings strong field leadership, deep heavy civil construction experience, and a proven ability to deliver complex projects from planning through completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for heavy civil projects, including pipeline, paving, excavation, underground utilities, concrete, and related water/wastewater treatment infrastructure work.
• Supervise field crews, foremen, subcontractors, manpower, and equipment to ensure productivity targets and project milestones are met.
• Develop and maintain work plans, look-ahead schedules, staffing plans, and equipment plans to support efficient project execution.
• Monitor production rates, labor hours, material usage, budgets, and job costs; identify and address issues that could impact schedule, safety, quality, or profitability.
• Partner closely with Project Managers, engineers, owners, inspectors, and field leadership to resolve project challenges and keep work progressing.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, site-specific safety plans, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain quality standards by ensuring work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, contract requirements, and industry best practices.
• Communicate project status, risks, resource needs, and field conditions clearly and proactively to leadership and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of heavy civil construction experience, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or field leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience managing crews and field operations on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, or grading.
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, schedules, production tracking, cost controls, and field documentation.
• Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage equipment and manpower, and solve field challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, construction safety practices, quality control standards, and site compliance expectations.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed and work in varying field conditions. Travel will include commitment to being onsite for the duration of projects which could be anywhere from 9 months to 2 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
