Ames Construction invites motivated interns to join our heavy civil construction team in the United States. This hands‑on role supports large projects while working with experienced professionals in the field.

Interns will assist with project coordination, technical reviews, safety monitoring, and stakeholder communication including owners, design partners, subcontractors, and field crews. Key duties include ensuring safety, supporting the team, drafting submittals, and monitoring quality

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and oral.
• Valid driver’s license preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Instill Safety as a top priority.
• Support a team of construction coworkers.
• Build relationships and communicate with coworkers, owners, design partners, and subcontractors.
• Review and draft technical submittals such as schedules, shop drawings, work plans, etc.
• Monitoring quality control, safety, and environmental programs.
• Understand and assist with project layout.
• Identify critical work items and procure long‑lead items.
• Assist with contract administration, including budget and change procedures.
• Assist with material procurement, including logistics.
• Work together to resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and the workforce.
• Maintaining as‑built drawings & manuals.
