Job summary

Ames Construction invites motivated interns to join our heavy civil team. This hands‑on role supports large-scale projects, coordinating with experienced field professionals and stakeholders such as owners, design partners, and subcontractors.

Expect exposure to project coordination, technical reviews, and safety oversight. Interns will assist with documentation, submittals, budgets, procurement, and field problem resolution while developing practical skills in construction management and site

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
Strong communication skills, written and oral.
Attention to detail and ability to mentor others.
Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Instill safety as a top priority.
Support a team of construction coworkers.
Build relationships and communicate with owners, design partners, and subcontractors.
Review and draft technical submittals such as schedules, shop drawings, work plans.
Monitor quality control, safety, and environmental programs.
Assist with contract administration, including budget and change procedures.
Assist with material procurement and logistics.
Maintain as-built drawings and manuals.
