Job summary

The Lane Construction Corporation seeks a Business Development Intern for a 10-week Summer Internship Program in Herndon, VA. You will support BD activities, gain exposure to client relations, and help drive growth across heavy civil construction projects.

Ideal candidates are pursuing degrees in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, with strong communication and organizational skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Interest in infrastructure, transportation, heavy civil construction, and engineering projects.
• Positive attitude, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support business development activities focused on heavy civil engineering and construction projects.
• Assist with market research, competitive analysis, and opportunity tracking.
• Help maintain and update client and project information within CRM systems.
• Participate in the preparation of presentations, qualifications packages, and proposal materials.
• Research public infrastructure projects, industry trends, and potential clients.
• Attend internal strategy meetings and collaborate with operations, estimating, and project teams.
• Support networking events, industry conferences, and client outreach initiatives as opportunities arise.
• Assist with special projects and administrative tasks related to business development efforts.
