Job summary

The Lane Construction Corporation invites applications for a Construction Intern position through its VSL internship program. This 10-week summer internship supports a major highway project in Virginia or Maryland and provides hands-on experience in field and office operations.

Interns will work with project managers, engineers, and construction professionals to learn project planning, documentation, and safety practices while developing technical and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily field and office activities to support project operations.
• Support project scheduling and planning efforts.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and project documentation; prepare submittals and reports.
• Assist surveying and layout activities; track quantities, progress and production rates.
• Review drawings and specifications; communicate discrepancies between design and field conditions.
